Welcome To The Carhartt Blog

At Carhartt, we love talking with Carhartt fans, like you, about your favorite Carhartt gear, whether we are out visiting one of our retailers, at a FFA event or just kicking back in a local diner.

In fact, our mailbox is always stuffed with letters and photos from customers sharing stories about everything from how wearing Carhartt protected them during freak accidents (our gear is not made for this purpose, but we sure are glad it's helped some folks) to Carhartt-clad wedding parties to babies trying out their first bib overalls.

We decided these stories are just too interesting to keep to ourselves, so we created this blog, to swap stories with all of you about a brand we love. Come back often and click here to share your thoughts with us.

Camo bibs

Monday, November 16, 2009 by Carhartt Blog Team
I would really like to see carhartt bring back their camo uninsulated bibs with the elastic shell holders in the front. I have got many years use out of mine but they are torn to shreads on account of the bryers we have where I hunt. It was the worst thing you could have done to me to discontinue this item. Im begging PLEASE BRING THEM BACK!!!

Carhartt In A Global Economy

Monday, October 5, 2009 by Carhartt Blog Team
To remain competitive in a global economy, Carhartt upholds a balanced approach to manufacturing by owning, operating and sourcing through facilities in the United States, Mexico and globally. Although our level of U.S. production is not as high as it once was, Carhartt still maintains sewing, distribution, cutting and administrative facilities in the United States. We stand behind the quality of our products and continue to manufacture garments that exceed industry standards for durability, comfort and quality of construction.

Carhartt Hits The Runway at Fashion In Detroit

Monday, October 5, 2009 by Carhartt Blog Team

On Friday, we made our runway debut at Fashion In Detroit, a biannual, two-day fashion event created by Project Runway's Joe Faris. This year's event was held on the grounds of the Detroit Zoo.

“With the heavy ‘work wear’ design influence that you see in the fashion industry today, it makes sense for Carhartt to be a part of this major fashion event here in Detroit,” said Jonathan West, Director of Design for Carhartt. “It’s true that Carhartt isn’t a ‘fashion’ company, but what we are is a global brand that stands behind our rugged work wear heritage and our historical roots here in Michigan.”

Carhartt’s product line-up at Fashion In Detroit included new rugged apparel offerings in our men’s and women’s jeans, dungarees, graphic T-shirts, and accessories, paired with the brand’s vintage product offerings in outerwear and jeans.

“It’s important that the industry no longer sees Carhartt as just an ‘outerwear’ manufacturer,” said West. “When in actuality, Carhartt offers a wide array of rugged apparel available in jeans, dungarees, shirts, hoodies, thermals and accessories that can be worn on and off the job.”

Facebook Contest "Storm Story" Winner: Michelle D.

Tuesday, September 8, 2009 by Carhartt Blog Team
Congratulations to our Facebook Storm Story Contest winner, Michelle from Casper Wyoming! Michelle is the winner of a FREE Carhartt Rainwear collection product. Thanks everyone for submitting your stories and photos.

Read Michelle's Story below:

"I live in Casper Wyoming and a few weeks ago my husband and I had to go to Douglas to stack his dads hay. So we going down I25 and I hear SNAP..SNAPSNAPSNAP. So I start looken around trying to find with was maken the noise and I leaned forward and l...ooked into the sky and the hail was on its way. It was still sunny so it looked amazing. So we drove under a bridge to wait it out for a bit.

We finally get to Douglas and are driving down the road towards his meadows and the rain hits and I mean it HITS we couldnt see a thing. We were to scared to go because we didnt wanna hit anyone incase they were stopped and we were to scared to stop cause we didnt wanna get hit. So after about 5 minutes it lets up so we make it to his dads land and the rain is so bad the truck could make it up the slope into the shop so we had to get out and run to the shop. It had only been raining maybe 10 mintues and the water was almost to my knees. We get into his shop and the water  starting to flood the shop so we climbed into the camper he has parked in there. We were stuck there for 2 hours.

The storm finally lets up and we decide to head home cause the bales were soaked and were gonna be way to heavy to lift. So we are driving back home to Casper and we get hit with a lightening storm. I mean huge bright flashes ... Read MoreHUGE streaks just a couple hundred yards away. It was dark by now I was so scared we were headed for a tornado (Casper usually doesnt get em..WYOMING usually doesnt get em but these past few summers have been PRETTY weird) anyway a few minutes into that storm the rain hits and we had to pull over for about 15 minutes.

All in all I was sick of being stuck everywhere and wanted to just get home to the ranch. LOL I posted a picture of a few clouds but I dont know how to get it on here so its on my profile. Its creepy it looks like someone took their finger nails and scraped them across the sky."
