My name is Lloyd Brown and I'm from Miami, FL.
I wear a lot of hats. My paying job is firefighter for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. But my real passion is rescuing animals. I get sent all over the world to work in areas that have been hit with disasters to rescue animals there. In the field, I wear carhartts! I see the less experienced people showing up trying to look cool in BDU's or some kind of official looking outfit that gets ripped to shreds in the dangerous environments in which we work. I also teach classes for the Humane Society of the United States for people who want to respond to disasters. I tell my students Carhartts are the only thing they'll see me wearing and if they want to impress me, that's what I'll see them wearing when they show up to help us out at a disaster.
I have used them in South Africa, El Salvador. Costa Rica, hurricanes Chalrey, Francis, Ivan and Jeanne in Florida in 2004, hurricanes Katrina and Wilma in 2005 Hurricane Ike in Texas last year and the Fargo, North Dakota floods this past year.
In this picture, I am helping to care for a baby elephant in Sri Lanka in February of 2005 after the Indian Ocean tsunami.
Thanks for making such a great product!
