My name is Donnie Winston and I'm from Parma, ID.
My husband Donnie drives a semi truck with a flatbed, hauling bins and pallets of onions from storage to production, for a local onion packing company. I buy Carhart as they are the only outer wear that holds up to rubbing across the metal sides of his truck and across wooden bins without getting caught. He throws straps several times per day, so needs to be flexible as well as warm. He is short skinny with long legs (28x36)and a very hard to find size, but Carhart always fit good. Other brands last 6 months if I'm lucky, with help of patches, are bulky or awkward. Carhart has lasted 3 years so far no patches needed. No getting hung up on equipment and don't soak up moisture like other brands. He can do his job quick and get going on the next load. Wish is tennis shoes and socks lasted as long.
My name is Doug Leith and I'm from South Africa.
It actually isn't that tough, and come to think of it, it is not a job, but a passion. Nevertheless I hope I pass the 'tough job' entry level by having to look after these two boys, have been for the last 6 years and have had my moments, along with having to change many items of clothing. Think Carhartt clothing is brilliant although that being said living in South Africa one is not able to get one's hands on it.
My name is Darren R. Habermehl and I'm from Franklin, WI.
My name is Darren R. Habermehl and I am a Foreman Construction Electrician. My last project was the electrical work associated with the rebuilding of the Marquette Interchange here in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was a three year, break-neck pace, extreme working condition project and Carhartt Outdoor Clothing was there the whole time. We worked year round including the two toughest winters we have seen in some years. With wind chills at 20 below zero, frost 30 to 48 inches deep, working in aerial lifts 125 above the ground, and salt from the roadways; work was always interesting. Your Carhartt Arctic Lined Jackets and Bibs kept us warm and working. The clothing is also tough enough to withstand several seasons of use before it needs to be serviced. We have tried other brands and types of clothing but nothing has held up as well as Carhartt. Thank you for making a great product! I love my Carhartt clothing so much that my dress jacket for going out on the town is a Carhartt style# J02 black jacket. Keep it up, and keep on working!
My name is James Boyd and I'm from Unknown, USA.
My name is james, and i have a tough job. i work in the steel building industry as a fitter/welder. we are constantly subjected to hot metal, sparks and sharps edge's from steel and welding wire. Not to mention constantly putting tools in our pocket's and clipping our 35' tape measure's on our pockets. i bought a "USED" pair of Carhartt 5 pocket jeans from Goodwill and they outlasted my wal-mart brand jeans 3 to 1. i still use them around the house (had them 4 years) i wore them for 2 years in the weld shop. AND THEY WHERE USED !!!!!! thanks for a great product.
My name is Michael O'Leary and I'm from Rochester, NY.
My name s Mike O'Leary and I work in the concrete industry, I am a field technician in the quality control department of a concrete producer. I am constantly subjecting my Carhartts to mud, grease, concrete, and lots of abrasions, not to mention snow and freezing wind. I am just about to go out and get some pants for the upcoming winter. I like to get the duck cloth carpenter pants, I need the extra pockets for the small selection of tools I carry. For me there is nothing better, cost, function, durability, that pretty much says it all. I purchase all my gear at the Carhartt store in Toomey's Corners, New York. They are the nicest and most professional people around, and they stock that store to the hilt. They are fine representative of your product. I wish you all the best in this tough economic time we are having.
My name is Mark Mason and I'm from El Dorado, AK.
Dear Carhartt,
Your clothing products really came in handy this past week. I have really grown to appreciate layering, and your product line is just what I need. Please see the attached pictures.
Surface salt mining operations, Dry lake bed, Mojave desert, USA.
Morning: 30 deg F (or lower), wind 30 mph: 4 layers of clothes
Afternoon: 60 deg F, no wind, bright sun: Down to 2 layers of light colors.
Evening: back to morning conditions. Outer layers back on.
What I love about Carhartt:
-Tall sizes, I'm 6' 5".
-Excellent for layering.
-Classic styling.
-Very durable cotton. The triple stitching gives a unique, practical look.
-Duck is virtually windproof.
-Room to move and work.
-Great colors. Carhartt Brown is my new favorite color, and it goes great with everything in the desert. Your lighter colors keep the sun's heat under control mid-day.
-The latest plaid shirts with the thin stripes are great for the office. They can be dressed up and really look sharp.
-Carhartt's shirt line is diverse enough to make the Carhartt store a one- stop shop for us small town residents.
Favorite garment: S 09 Heavy Twill Work Shirt, the best feeling shirt on the planet.
Favorite Carhartt Dealer: The Best of Both Worlds, El Dorado, Arkansas, 71730
My name is M. Dylan Raskin and I'm from Unknown, USA.

It's Friday and it's mid-January and it's colder than my ex-girlfriend. I have one of the hardest jobs in America: the published author.
Hotshot writers don't have to do the things I do. After I publish a book (I have two on the market thus far) I have to live on the road for months at a time in my car- a 1996 Toyota RAV4 (a classic automobile; it leaks oil, the doors don't shut in the winter, it smells like wet dog, and every maintenance light on the dashboard is illuminated, yet it runs like it's two days old). I have to live this way for two reasons: I'm perpetually broke (I make next to nothing on my books) and I have to constantly promote both books- not just to keep my publisher happy, but more importantly, so that they don't get taken out of print.
Me, my RAV4, my mangy dog, Esme, and my Carhartt gear have been down nearly every highway this country has to offer. We haven't lived in the same place for more than a month in several years. My personal favorite Carhartt product is the Shirt-Jac- it really cranks my dial. I have two of them (a brown one and a black one). I sleep in them, go to dinner in them, and wipe the snot out of my nose with them (is it mentally irregular to mention that I never wash them?). I also have three Carhartt jackets- one that I bought in stinking Manhattan when I was 25, one that I bought last year, and another that I recently received as a gift from my girlfriend.
I may have a couple of kangaroos loose in the top paddock, but I can hardly imagine my life without my Carhartt gear. Firstly, I'd freeze my rear end off while sleeping in the RAV (I failed to mention earlier that the heat doesn't work while the engine is idling). Secondly, my girlfriend would probably make like an atom and split.
While I'm holed up here tonight in the back of this thirteen-year-old Toyota, in the midst of an ungodly Upstate New York winter, I'm feeling strangely comforted wrapped in my snot-stained Carhartt Shirt-Jac, and with my head resting on a well-worn Carhartt jacket (Esme's underneath my other Shirt-Jac, in case you were wondering).
Thank you, Carhartt, for always keeping us safe and warm, and for making homelessness look semi-classy. Upon turning both of my books into bestsellers, I promise to allocate 22 percent of my income to go towards purchasing new, snot-free Carhartt gear.
Truly yours,
M. Dylan Raskin
My name is Chuck Hoffman and I'm from Winnetka, IL.
My tough job is maintaining the 26 parks and 12 factilities in the town of Winnetka, IL. Reguardless of the season, I know I can count on my Carhartt gear to keep me warm, dry, and protected. When a violent summer storm knocked over more than 1,000 trees in town, my Carhartt Double Front Canvas Pants kept my legs safe from the dangers of chainsawing and removing downed trees. In addition, my Carhartt Extreme Weather Parka and Bibs really made the difference while making outdoor ice rinks in subzero tempratures where getting wet from spraying water and hawling wet, snow covered hoses is unavoidable. Thanks for all the great products! Because as long as Carhartt keeps doing a great job, I'll be able to do the same in the field.
My name is Tim Payne and I'm from Newell, IA.
I drive a feed truck. I can be delivering feed to farms not unlike the mailman, (snow, sleet, rain) no matter the condition outside, I am there to make sure those animals eat. I always have my carhartt's there with me from rain gear to my lined bibs and active jac. I can't say that I have the toughest job, but with the help from Carhartt, it's a lot warmer.
My name is Danny Boyle and I'm from Kansas City, KS .
When it's 10 degrees outside I trust Carhartt to keep me warm, roofing is tough enough as it is, but your clothing keeps me comfortable all day long.
My name is Chris Sherman and I'm from Camden, Maine.
I work on a schooner off the coast of Maine. We go out in all kinds of ridiculous weather, we climb the rigging 102' above the water in big seas, we bring in a rust covered anchor every morning by hand and we all wear Carhartt. We also clean the heads three times a day unfortunately.
My name is Cierra Ward and I'm from Washington, NC .
My job is pretty tough by most standards. I am a Harvesting Forester for Weyerhaeuser Company in eastern North Carolina. I administer contract loggers on company-owned land. This often entails spending hours trudging through some of the thickest, most tick- and briar-infested woods down east to do deck visits, perform equipment inspections, find harvest boundaries and property lines, and detemine what type and how much wood will be harvested from the setting. I have to perform these tasks rain-or-shine, dry or muddy, hot or freezing cold! I have to say, I literally jumped for joy the day I walked into a farm store and saw that Carhartt had finally come out with a women's line. I bought 4 pairs of pants, all different styles, and I absolutely love every pair. They are thick enough to keep the briars from getting through to my skin, they fit great, are comfortable, and are just downright tough. I can't wait to buy the new double-front denim carpenters.
I'm so glad that a company like Carhartt is providing tough workwear for women with tough jobs! Keep up the great work!
My name is Don Bailey and I'm from Veedersburg, Indiana.
My job of driving a propane delivery truck demands that I work in all sorts of weather. I can count on Carhartt to keep me on the job no matter what mother nature throws at me. In the winter I wear Carhartt thermo underwear-sockcap-and artic jacket to keep me warm and on the job. In the fall and spring I have a thermo lined jacket that is just perfect that time of year. THANKS CARHARTT for being there. I would'nt consider any other work clothes.
My name is Sarah Courtney and I'm from Santa Barbara, CA.
I was curious about your new women's apparel line I have seen advertised. I went to your website and found this link so I thought I'd tell you about what my coworkers and I do.
I am a geologist for an environmental consulting firm. I spend much of my time doing field work outside in remote and urban areas.
Our field work includes taking soil and groundwater samples to investigate our clients' properties for contamination from toxic chemicals. There is a lot of other tasks required to accomplish this goal.
Our job can be tough due to the fact that we work outdoors with a lot of equipment, and it is always dirty.
I love my job because I get to work outdoors and touch the earth. I feel good about what I do because we are helping the environment too.
The guys I work with like to wear Carhartt pants because they are durable. When work wear comes up they suggest I order some Carhartts also. I always reply with a giggle, "I don't think Carhartt makes MY size" (I am 5' 3"120lbs typically a size 2). And honestly I don't want clothes that make me look like one of the guys. Now that you have a women's line I will have to try some Carhartt pants that work for my feminine body.
My name is Lynn Baker and I'm from Medford, OR.
My "tough" job is a wonderful job. I work at the South Medford Grange Co-Op and I am a outdoor nursery cashier year round. In the cool and cold winter months, I stay most comfortably warm in my Carhart Women's Sandstone Bib Quilt/Lined Overalls!!!! I love the fit of them! These truly helped me through the winter.
Additionally, when the chill really sets in, I would snug-into my Women's Sandstone Mock-Neck Sherpa Lined Vest!!The toughest part of my job is the winter weather, but with your great Carhart clothing, I was able to stay "on task"and serve the winter shoppers in the nursery.
My name is George Kirby and I'm from Mount Vernon, WA.
Carhartt cover the EXTREMES, from work to play. As a chicken hauler, truck driver, my unlined bibs provide exceptional protection from the dirt and grim of leaning against trailers and loads while securing equipment on flatbed trailers. The double knee protection saves my knees while climbing under feed tanks and securing hatches while on expanded metal grating. While doing live haul of chickens, the Extremes provide extreme protection not only from the elements of the weather, but also the splashes and spray of this fowl job. If I am not in my work bibs I am usually found in Carhartt jeans and shirts or being like the kid in all of us, wearing my dark brown sandstone bibs out on the beach, climbing around rocks or hiking around. Carhartt has great clothing for all occasions from work to play and even dining out.
My name is Dave Knox and I'm from Farragut, TN.
I was actually cleaning out my closet on Sunday when I realized that almost all my work clothes are Carhartt. That's when I came to the conclusion that the family joke is indeed true. I always, in one form or another, have on a piece of carhartt clothing. As I sit here I'm wearing a pair of B-147 canvas work shorts and a short sleeve chambry shirt. Carhartt is what I wear. Carhartt is what I'm comfortable wearing.
I've been working as a timber-framer and log home builder for the better part of the last twenty years. I'm tough on clothes. As far as I'm concerned, my clothing is as much a tool as my Stihl saws and my Barr chisel's. I work all over the country, in all sorts of weather. I've tried other brands over the years, but I keep coming back to Carhartt. Why? because it lasts! And the longer you wear it, the better it looks. Well except for maybe the pair of insulated bibs, my "reds", which I finally retired last year after 17 years because there was more red quilting showing on the outside than the inside. I'm sure the new pair will last as long as the first.
Thanks Carhartt!
My name is April Michelle and I'm from Alaska, USA.
Operating heavy equipment isn't a very hard job in some places but up on the oil fields of Alaska's north slope in the winter time it can get down right dangerous. 12 hour days 7 days a week for 8 to 10 weeks at a time makes some people go crazy where others just keep on truckn'. Work doesn't stop at 30 below or even 50 below 0. Things just get a little slower. You can find yourself stuck outside of your camp in a blizzard (we call them blows up there) for days at a time before you can get to food, water, or even a hot shower. There is no difference between a man and a woman in these conditions, everyone pulls together and works as a team to get the job done no matter what. Day in a day out building ice roads and islands only to see your work melt away every spring as the sun reappears and the darkness vanishes. This is a job of a north slope junkie.
My name is Jacqueline Veats and I'm from Pleasant Hill, CA.
Thank you for developing a line of Carhartt clothing for women. I am so pleased and cannot thank you enough. I just bought 4 pairs of Carhartt jeans, dungarees, and a jacket. I work in the Arctic in Alaska and wore out two pairs of another brand of jeans in 5 months. I never could wear men's pants due to my figure. Walking in a store and seeing a line especially for women is heaven! I have told all my gal-pals and the response has been very positive. Thank you so much!!!
My name is Dan Sartain and I'm from Butte, MT.
I just wanted to say that Carhartt has surpassed any other jeans on the market today. I purchased two pair of Carhartt jeans over two years ago and wear each pair at least two days a week of course they are washed each time I wear them. I used to be a concrete worker but now I am a yard foreman for Bozeman Brick Block and Tile working outside in all types of weather. So as you can imagine I have put these jeans to the test. As my wife and I were talking today and I commented on how well these jeans have stood up to whatever I have put them through, all four seasons. I will purchase more of these jeans when these two pair fall off my body. In conclusion I just want to say thank you for taking pride in building a pair of jeans that really stand the test of time.
